Alex Popa, Co-founder and Managing Partner
Alex Popa is the managing partner at Boast Capital. Previously, Alex managed the software R&D practice for KPMG in Western Canada as well as a multinational management consulting firm. Alex is also the co-founder of Traction Conf.
Previously, Alex was a partner at Plug and Play Ventures Canada focussed on early-stage investments, he co-founded an e-commerce startup specializing in online recruitment resources to high turnover industries, and was a Business Intelligence Engineer at Johnson & Johnson.
Alex is a certified Project Management Professional, holds a B. Eng. in Software Engineering from Lakehead University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia.
Lloyed Lobo, Co-founder and Partner
Lloyed Lobo manages marketing and strategic partnerships at Boast Capital. He is also the co-founder of Traction Conf, a top rated conference by Inc. and Huffington Post that is held in Vancouver and San Francisco to help businesses drive customer and revenue growth.
Previously, Lloyed was a partner at Plug and Play Ventures Canada focussed on early-stage investments, and led sales and marketing efforts for several venture-backed companies. Lloyed studied Software and Electrical Engineering at Lakehead University and Marketing at New York University.
Jeff Christie, Partner
Jeff Christie is responsible for new client development, partnerships, and strategic growth at Boast Capital while leading our Business Development Team. Prior to joining Boast Capital Jeff competed as an Olympic athlete for 16 years in the sport of luge. He raced in the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics as well as 72 World Cups and 8 World Championships.
Jeff is actively involved in the local community. He is a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) Board of Directors and Athletes Commission; was on the World Petroleum Council Youth Foundation (WPCYF) organizing committee for the 2013 Forum. Jeff traveled to Sochi in 2014 with CBC to commentate the Olympic games and conducts a number of public speaking engagements. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC.
